Connecting PC & Laptop through crossover cable...

MOST OF U USE LANCARD TO CONNECT A PC WITH LAPTOP WHY TO WASTE RS 1200 IF U CN DO IT IN THIS WAY BY PLUCKING UR PHONE WIRE
Connecting PC & Laptop through crossover cable... IS REALLY EASY

Shut down both...connect the cable and start both...now go to network in control panel...there you have to set home network in order to share files...after this right click on lan card in which u have connected that cable...there select properties...then slect internet protocol(TCP/IP) and click on properties...here you will see "use following IP address"...here first on PC fill that...with the following...

PC

IP address - 192.168.1.31
Subnet mask - 255.0.0.0
Default gatway - 192.168.1.1

Laptop - Vista also has same options...

IP address - 192.168.1.32
Subnet mask - 255.0.0.0
Default gatway - 192.168.1.1

after filling click on ok button...at left hand side u will see "view workgroup computers"
click on it...it will search and if you have done correct it will show u the available computers connected....
